One of my baby plan clients saw this photo and just had to have it for herself. We got our creative heads together and turned this into her Christmas card. In her card she is looking at the camera. Can you believe that she is 7 months pregnant here? I was having a hard time showing off her bump! She looks amazing as always!
Her second little girl is due in early March. I can’t wait!!!

What do you get when you have a perfect fall day, a loving family and an adorable little girl with a HUGE personality?
And this. The hair, the smile, the dimples, the eyes…..poor Daddy will have his hands full in about 12 years.

Remember I mentioned the loving family? Love is just oozing from this family hug.

I enjoyed meeting this family. Not sure about them, but I had a blast playing with Miss A.

We are finally moved in and settled. We have experienced so many changes since we have moved in to our new home. We moved in on a Thursday, 5 days later, I took my daughter to get registered for Kindergarten. 2 days after that she had to report for staggered entry and the next Monday, only 11 days after moving in, my baby girl started school.
The first 2 days were touch and go for her but now she loves it!
The next big event for her was getting a loose tooth. She was so excited, until she saw the blood. But after she calmed down she could not wait for the tooth fairy to come and visit. We had made a tooth fairy pillow to hang on her door but she as a little uneasy about ever being able to see her tooth again. So her tooth fairy, Miranda, left her a little tiny note with $5! A big amount because it is her first tooth. Miranda told her that she would keep her tooth in a very safe place. She was a very happy girl in the morning. Here is a snapshot of her pillow and here goodies left by Miranda including purple “fairy dust.”

Mommy is a little sad because her baby teeth are the last part of her that is still “baby.” I can already see that big girl tooth coming in. Her new smile is still adorable but I will miss all of those tiny baby teeth.

The mom of these 3 brothers called me with a quick request. They were going on vacation in a week to visit family and Grandma wanted some new pictures of her Grandsons. I took just an hour off from packing up my house and met this family at a local park. It was early in the morning before the heat of the day took over. Poor guys had just gotten out of school and I was making them wake up early on summer vacation. But they did great!
The youngest. Having purple hair myself, I knew I would get along with him. I loved his frosted “Guy Fieri” hair.

I am so glad we were able to work this session in. I hope Grandma enjoyed her visit and the new portraits of her Grandsons.
Thank you K Family!

I had the pleasure of photographing the Valentine’s Day Father Daughter dance at my daughter’s ballet school. For once, I had the easiest time getting the Dads to give me that true, relaxed smile. Not the “My wife is making me do this” smile. They were so proud of their girls and you could see it on each and every face. And the daughters were simply adorable. They were all dressed up and a lot had corsages.
Everyone had so much fun. Christy, owner of Christy’s DancExplosion, did a great job with the dance. Lots of food and fun. The last song of the night was “Butterfly Kisses.” So mean of Christy to play that, right?
You can tell in my candid shots when that song was being played. Those poor Dads, trying not to cry. And yep, Christy and I had tears too.
I had such a hard time choosing the ones for the blog so I basically just closed my eyes and picked!!

Meet the the W Family. I had 3 beautiful girls in the studio this week. The oldest is full of personality. She is only a few weeks older than my daughter so I really had fun with her. The middle girl is so very loving and sweet.
The oldest and the new middle sister. I just love their expressions here.

Daddy is going to have his hands full in a few years. Watch out world. These girls are going to break a lot of hearts!

Next up is the J Family.
What a wonderful family!!!! Mommy is a teacher at the school my daughter will be attending when she starts Kindergarten. Daddy and Papa were so helpful and did great at keeping Miss M.E. entertained by playing with all things princess. Speaking of big sister, her fingernails were painted red with little polka dots! I wanna do my nails like that. And Baby L was such a good baby. I don’t remember him crying at all.
Baby L missed being born on Christmas Day by about 10 minutes, born on the 26th. But what a wonderful and adorable Christmas gift he is.
Since it was the holidays, Papa was in town and we got some shots with both of his Grandkids. This is him with the new big sister, Miss M.E.

I love how she is looking at her new brother so seriously.

And, Baby L. Also looking so serious right at me with those beautiful eyes.

I had so much fun with this family. They were so understanding about the condition of my house. It was so crowded with a mix of my photography things, Christmas toys and all of my Christmas Trees. If you missed my Christmas Tree Tour it is blogged here.
Thank you J Family!!!

I had 2 New Year Eve dates with 2 super cute boys!! Baby N and Baby L.
First up is the W Family with Baby N.
I did a summer shoot with this family on a lovely 90 degree morning. Yes when we were done at 10:45 am it had reached 90! Phew! You can see them here.
Baby N was born December 17th and I did a shoot with him and his family but he was not really into it. I did get some nice family shots.
I have been trying to focus more on the emotion and interaction within the families so I love this shot. Look how every face is naturally showing 100% happiness. Having a husband and child who have perfected the fake and posed smile, I am so jealous of this family picture!

This is Miss R, my future assistant! She took pictures at both shoots. This is a messy behind the scenes shot. Yes that is mayonnaise and soup holding up the piece of molding. And I see even more groceries behind the bucket. Very technical stuff going on here! Actually, we were in my dining room and right at my pantry.

And I have to show you how adorable baby N is!

And to brag on Mommy for a bit….. she did a “man room” nursery complete with a “bear skin rug” that was made from brown soft fuzzy fabric with big soft paws and a cute bear face. It was adorable!!!

I had this family in my studio this past summer when little Miss C was all brand new. See her here.
Last week her Mommy called and wanted a quick session for holiday cards. When we scheduled this shoot we could never have imagined just how “holiday” it would turn out to be.
For my non local readers, we do not get a lot of snow here in Raleigh, NC. It is even more rare to get snow before Christmas. Even higher odds to get snow an hour before a holiday portrait session. This was a real treat for us. The roads never got messy, we had beautiful fluffy flakes and the park had already scheduled sleigh rides that evening. Everything was perfect.
Look how much she has grown!
I wish this card has a “listen to this” option. The snow was falling and crunching under our feet. The horses were decked out in jingle bells. It was a beautiful day at the park.

And I would like to thank the staff at Oak View Historic Park. The let me take some shots of the family inside, which is usually not allowed. They were so nice to let us take pictured with the horses before they started the rides. Everyone has been so nice every time I have been out there. The park is just lovely. Here is a link to the park’s information. http://www.wakegov.com/parks/oakview/default.htm
